Faster Payment
Used for GBP payments up to £250,000 within the UK that need to be credited to the beneficiary's account on the same working day.
CHAPS
Used for GBP payments within the UK that need to be credited to the beneficiary's account on the same working day. There is no payment limit for CHAPS although it is typically more expensive than using Faster Payments.
Cheque
Used to order a cheque payable to a beneficiary which will be posted directly to the details inputted in the address field. At least two lines of the address field should be completed with the beneficiary address.
SWIFT/BIC
Used for all euro payments going to a country within the European Economic Area and for international payments where SWIFT/BIC details are known.
Currency to sort code
Used as an alternative to SWIFT/BIC for payments in currencies other than GBP or EUR where the beneficiary's account is located in the UK.
Other
Used for international payments when SWIFT/BIC is not applicable or available (e.g. for payments to the USA using a Fed Wire, ABA or Routing number).
